what is the importence of chatari are padukalo in temple

We are all confronted by "Shad ripulu"--kaama,krodha,lobha,mada,moha and maatsaryam--in our jeevita yaatra. By surrendering unto the holy feet of God, we can overcome the inner enemies. That is why the Shat+ari=Shatari or Satagopam is placed on our head in temples (It bears the padaas of God on top of it). Another meaning is that the Satagopam=which keeps the inncer six enemies away-Shat+gopam( gopyamugaa vunchunadi). The essence is that we have to keep away from these inner vikaarams. In Bhagavadgita it is said that by abhyaasa and vairaagya, you can keep your erring mind under control.
