Analysing the natal chart

Analysing the natal chart

The nakshatras are the key to Jyotish as they combine the solar and the lunar influences. Nakshatras represent the lunar mandala, and rashis, the solar Zodiac. What the combination of these two reveal is the essence of analysis.

Knowing the nakshatra placements of your Ascendant and grahas is very important in Jyotish. The study of the nakshatra placements are very personal and understanding their points in your natal chart will lead you to a much deeper understanding of your inner motivation and tensions. They are best reached through their symbols: meditate on them and on their meaning. Their study, even in your own chart, is the work of a lifetime; they work on many different levels and their full meaning is only revealed over time. The nakshatras show the complex working of the mind and the underlying emotional energy behind every planet. In natal chart analysis, there is static and dynamic analysis:

In static analysis, we study the nakshatra to ascertain the quality of the mind, not just from the position of the Moon but also for all the other planets. We want to know gandanta positions, ashtamamsha, vargottama, pushkara. There are certain nakshatras that are difficult by nature, so we need to know how to deal with them if we have planets in them. The Moon nakshatra gives us the auspicious name consonant or vowel.

The dynamic analysis includes the mahadasha pattern and the transits that we will experience. In Jyotish, one human lifetime falls into a series of phases, the dashas, each one ruled by a particular graha. Calculation of which dashas you will experience in your life (you will not live through them all) and the timing of these life phases, is taken from the exact nakshatra position of the Moon at birth.

The position of the Moon at birth will indicate how the dasha pattern will unfold the soul purpose and timing of events.

History of Taurus in Western Astrology

Taurus was the first sign of the zodiac established among the ancient Mesopotamians, who called it as the Bull of Heaven because it was the constellation through which the sun rose on the vernal equinox at that time. Due to the precession of the equinox, it has since passed through the constellation Aries and into the constellation Pisces. Cults centered around Sacred bulls began to form in Assyria, Egypt, and Crete during the Age of Taurus, known as "The Age of Earth, Agriculture, and the Bull"

Taurus Details in Western Astrology

Taurus (Latin for "the Bull") is one of the constellations of the zodiac, which means it is crossed by the plane of the ecliptic. Taurus is a large and prominent constellation in the northern hemisphere's winter sky. It is one of the oldest constellations, dating back to at least the Early Bronze Age when it marked the location of the Sun during the spring equinox. Its importance to the agricultural calendar influenced various bull figures in the mythologies of Ancient Sumer, Akkad, Assyria, Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

A number of features exist that are of interest to astronomers. Taurus hosts two of the nearest open clusters to Earth, The Pleiades and the Hyades, both of which are visible to the naked eye. At first magnitude, the red giant Aldebaran is the brightest star in the constellation. In the northwest part of Taurus is the supernova remnant Messier 1, more commonly known as the Crab Nebula. One of the closest regions of active star formation, the Taurus-Auriga complex, crosses into the northern part of the constellation. The variable star T Tauri is the prototype of a class of pre-main-sequence stars.

Characteristics

Taurus is a big and prominent constellation in the northern hemisphere's winter sky, between Aries to the west and Gemini to the east; to the north lies Perseus and Auriga, to the southeast Orion, to the south Eridanus, and to the southwest Cetus. In September and October, Taurus is visible in the evening along the eastern horizon. The most favorable time to observe Taurus in the night sky is during the months of December and January. By March and April, the constellation will appear to the west during the evening twilight.

This constellation forms part of the zodiac and hence is intersected by the ecliptic. This circle across the celestial sphere forms the apparent path of the Sun as the Earth completes its annual orbit. As the orbital plane of the Moon and the planets lie near the ecliptic, they can usually be found in the constellation Taurus during some part of each year. The galactic plane of the Milky Way intersects the northeast corner of the constellation and the galactic anti center is located near the border between Taurus and Auriga. Taurus is the only constellation crossed by all three of the galactic equator, celestial equator, and ecliptic. A ring-like galactic structure known as Gould's Belt passes through the constellation.

The recommended three-letter abbreviation for the constellation, as adopted by the International Astronomical Union in 1922, is "Tau". The official constellation boundaries, as set by Eugène Delporte in 1930, are defined by a polygon of 26 segments. In the equatorial coordinate system, the right ascension coordinates of these borders lie between 03h 23.4m and 05h 53.3m, while the declination coordinates are between 31.10° and −1.35°. Because a small part of the constellation lies to the south of the celestial equator, this can not be a completely circumpolar constellation at any latitude.

Aries/ The Ram ( Mesha Rasi ) Western astrology details

Aries/ The Ram ( Mesha Rasi ) Western astrology details

Aries ()  (meaning "ram") is the first astrological sign in the zodiac, spanning the first 30 degrees of celestial longitude (0°≤ λ <30°). Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this sign from approximately March 20 to April 21 each year. This time duration is exactly the first month of the Solar Hijri calendar. The symbol of the ram is based on the Chrysomallus, the flying ram that provided the Golden Fleece.

According to the tropical system of astrology, the Sun enters the sign of Aries when it reaches the March equinox, which time systems and the western calendar are rooted in, so as to occur on average on March 21. Because the Earth takes approximately 365.25 days to go around the Sun, the precise time of the equinox is not the same each year, and generally will occur about six hours later from one year to the next. February 29 of a leap year causes that year's vernal equinox to fall about eighteen hours earlier compared with the previous year. Since 1900 the vernal equinox date has ranged from March 20 at 08h (2000) GMT to March 21 at 19h (1903) GMT. March 19 at 23:20 will occur in 2044 UT1. In contrast, under the sidereal zodiac, the sun currently transits Aries from April 15 to 14 May (approximately).

Aries is the first fire sign in the zodiac, the other fire signs being Leo and Sagittarius. Individuals born between these dates, depending on which system of astrology they subscribe to, may be called Arians or Ariens.

The equivalent in the Hindu solar calendar is Meṣha.

Mesha Rasi (Aries/ The Ram ) Vedic Astrology details

Mesha (मेष), is a month in the Indian solar calendar. It corresponds to the zodiacal sign of Aries, and overlaps with about the second half of April and about the first half of May in the Gregorian calendar.

People born in Aswini nakshatra(4) padas, Bharani nakshatra (4)padas, Krittika nakshatra (1st Pada) comes under Mesha Rashi. lord of this Rashi is Mars.

In Vedic texts, the Mesha month is called Madhu Masam, but in these ancient texts, it has no zodiacal associations. The solar month of Mesha overlaps with its lunar month Vaisakha, in Hindu lunisolar calendars. The Mesha is preceded by the solar month of Mīna, and followed by the solar month of Vṛṣabha.

The Mesha month is called Chittirai in the Tamil calendar, and is its first month. The ancient and medieval era Sanskrit texts of India vary in their calculations about the duration of Mesha, just like they do with other months. For example, the Surya Siddhanta calculates the duration of Mesha to be 30 days, 22 hours, 26 minutes, and 48 seconds. In contrast, the Arya Siddhanta calculates the duration of Mesha to be 30 days 22 hours 12 minutes.

Mesha is also an astrological sign in Indian horoscope systems, corresponding to Aries

o   Sage Mahatapa in the Varah Puranas tells us how both the Ashwini kumaras manifested themselves.
o   The Ashvins or Ashwini   Kumaras (Sanskrit aśvin-, dual aśvinau),

in Hindu mythology, are divine twin horsemen in the Rigveda, sons of Saranya (daughter of Vishwakarma), a goddess of the clouds and wife of Surya in his form as Vivasvat. The Ashvins are Vedic gods symbolizing the shining of sunrise and sunset, appearing in the sky before the dawn in a golden chariot, bringing treasures to men and averting misfortune and sickness. The Ashvins are mentioned 376 times in the Rigveda, with 57 hymns specifically dedicated to them: 1.3, 1.22, 1.34, 1.46-47, 1.112, 1.116-120 (c.f. Vishpala), 1.157-158, 1.180-184, 2.20, 3.58, 4.43-45, 5.73-78, 6.62-63, 7.67-74, 8.5, 8.8-10, 8.22, 8.26, 8.35, 8.57, 8.73, 8.85-87, 10.24, 10.39-41, 10.143. The older name of the asterism, found in the Atharvaveda (AVS 19.7; in the dual) and in Panini(4.3.36), was aśvayúj "harnessing horses". Ashvini Kumaras, the golden armored horse-headed twins of ancient Vedic lore, performed many miracles as physicians of the celestial gods.

According to Indian astrology, Ashwini nakshatra falls in the category of Gandamoola nakshatra. Ketu is the ruling planet of this nakshatra. Astrology says that the natives of Ashwini are very energetic, mysterious, inaccessible to common people, can surprise others by their sudden and innovative performance, are people who will experience the extremes to accomplish their goals. The biggest drawback of their character is their vacillating mind short temper

                    ASHWINI NAKSHATRA

Etymologically implying birth from a female horse, the representational meaning of horse with regard to Ashwini nakshatra lies in its power, strength, vitality, courage and ability at speedy action. With 'ketu' or south lunar phase being its lord, Ashwini Nakshatra reflects the enthusiasm of its planetary lord 'ketu'.

Aśva is the Sanskrit word for a horse, one of the significant animals finding

References in the Vedas as well as later Hindu scriptures. The legend states that the first horse emerged from the depth of the ocean during the churning of the oceans. It was a horse with white color and had two wings. It was known by the name of Uchchaihshravas. The Puranic legend continues that Indra, king of the devas, took away the mythical horse to his celestial abode, the svarga (heaven). Subsequently, Indra severed the wings of the horse and presented the same to the mankind. The wings were severed to ensure that the horse would remain on the earth (prithvi) and not fly back to Indra’s Swarga. There are repeated references to the horse the Vedas (c. 1500 - 500 BC). In particular the Rigveda has many equestrian scenes, often associated with chariots. The Ashvins are divine twins named for their horsemanship. Horses in Vedas are always associated to the Sun, carrying the Sun to a new dawn indicating a relation to light. - The strong solar connection of Ashwini and the Vedic symbolism of dawn. The horses will draw the chariots of the Sun god, carry a warrior. Again, the Sun, while searching for his wife he takes the form of a horse. This gives importance to Ashwini nakshatra.- symbolizing the qualities of independence, beauty, and wildness.

ASHVINI  NAKSHATRA

One of the earliest mentions of “ Kalki ” is in the Vishnu Purana. Avatar of Vishnu with the Sword or Asi (By Brahma to destroy evil). Kalki is depicted as riding a white horse with wings, known as 'Devadatta' or God-given. In these images, Kalki is brandishing a brilliant sword in his left hand, eradicating the decadence of Kali Yuga. Lord Kalki will remove the darkness of kali yuga and establish a new yuga (age) called Satya yuga on the earth. It has also been said that Lord Kalki will obtain the Vedic knowledge from Parasurama and the military science from Lord Siva. The horse on which He will ride while destroying the wicked will be white in color. In the 1st Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam, He has been described as the twenty-second avatara. Vishnu wearing the horse's head also represents an aspect of his incarnation as Kalki, the tenth avatar. The name Kalki is a metaphor for eternity or time. The Sanskrit root, “Kalka” means mud or foulness and so Kalki means “destroyer of foulness or destroyer of darkness, “as well as“annihilator of ignorance.”

In the Rigveda, horses (prana) are yoked to the chariot of Indra, king of the gods (higher self). The chariot represents our body as a vehicle and the horses, our sensory organs through which prana is gathered. The mind (ego) is the driver who holds the reins (yamas and niyamas) and next to the mind sits the true observer (higher self), Indra. We refine our senses and “driving” skills through Raja yoga (yoga is a skill in action), cultivating the higher self as the mind mediates and navigates worldly phenomena.

The Aswinis are luminal, twin Vedic deities giving spiritual strength. One twin fills the universe with light while the other twin with flexibility. The Aswini symbolize the dawn, the first breaking of light. They guide our awe-inspiring quest for reality and truth. In Vedic science, ashva (the horse) is prana, the energy that propels the zodiac as a single wheeled-chariot yoked by seven planets. It is the wheel of time on which all beings are placed. The Vedic horse (ashva) is a symbol of the life energy (prana) and indicates perfect control over the breath (Pranayama) as well as miraculous speed.

"One who makes the appropriate offering to the Ashwins and to Ashwini becomes possessed of good hearing and will not become deaf. Ashwini Nakshatra grants the power of hearing on both outer and inner levels. That is why this Nakshatra relates to secret knowledge and to miraculous powers."

Ashvini (aśvinī) is the name of a Hindu constellation (the head of Aries, or the first of the

27 Nakshatras). Personified, Ashvini is the wife of the Ashvins (Rigveda 5.46.8), later also considered their mother. The Ashvin are young twins. They are the embodiment of the great power that ushers in the dawn. They represent the movement from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge. They are the physicians to the devas, the Gods, and their sacred energy alone is enough to destroy disease and bring about good health. The symbol of the Ashvin is honey. Honey has many miraculous properties, a fact that was known

to the peoples of ancient days. Honey is the medicine of the Gods. It has the power to cure many illnesses, it purifies the body of all kinds of taints. It has a beneficial physical, mental and spiritual effect. The sweetness too is a quality of the Ashvin. Ashwini is the first nakshatra of the zodiac having a spread from 0°-0'-0" to 13°-20' and is ruled by the node Ketu. Ashwini is governed by the Ashwins, the twin horsemen. The Sun is Exalted here

and the horse is the preferred transport of the Sun God. Sun's exaltation in Ashwini is a reminder to the soul of their eternal connection.

EIGHT AVATARS OF LORD VINAYAKA

EIGHT AVATARS OF LORD VINAYAKA

Lord Vinayaka also called as Ganapathi and Ganesa, as we know, is the first god in Hinduism. Due to destroy the evil forces, he took several avatars. All these avatars were taken to destroy the demons and to safeguard the divine Devas. The details of his various avatars are explained as below:-

1.Ekdant Avatar
Lord Ganapathy took this avatar in order to destroy the Demon Madasura in order to safeguard the divine Devas from the clutches of Madasura.

2.Vakratunda
Lord Ganesa took this avatar to destroy the Demon Matsrasur. He got a boon from Siva, that he will not be destroyed by any living creatures in this world and after then started harassing the devas. Hence he was destroyed by Lord Vinayaka.

3. Gajanana
